Today 14th of September , 2013. District mandi Jankalyan Sabha (Delhi) organized its 52nd Annual Function -the Himachali Milan and lovingly called ‘Serr’ Festival. It was celebrated at Shah Auditorium Complex, Shree Delhi Gujrati Smaj, Civil Lines, Delhi-10054.
The Parv inaugurated by the chief Guest Sh. Kaul Singh Thakur Hon’ble Minister Health and Family welfare, Revenue and Law & Justice Govt. 0f Himachal Pradesh and preside over by Padamshree Dr. D.S.Rana, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. The auspicious presence of distinguished guests and various cultural troupes made the occasion a great memorable success.
The cultural troupes from Department of Language and culture Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, Sahitya kala Academy Delhi and The Hindi Academy Delhi -Govt. of NCT of Delhi won the hearts of the guest and audience with their marvelous performance.
As many as 2000 or more people origin of Himachal living in Delhi and NCR and from back home with families especially kids enjoyed the language and cultural program. The Mandi Sabha has chosen few social workers and philanthropists in order to bring their contribution into the light. There are the people in the society who love to put their bit in the service of mankind but want to stay away from the lime light, so the Sabha resolved to make out and honor them.
With the permission of the chair the General Secretary Sh. Sonu Ram Verma ji came up with the Annual Report and Charter of Demands on behalf of the people of Himachal Pradesh, followed by the Presidential Address by Sh. Kanshi Ram Verma ji. The program progressed in a very calm and interesting manner. It was a mixture of various cultural items presented on the Stage. The chief and distinguished guests along with folks enjoyed the event most and appreciated.
And now obviously it was a time for few words from the chief guest Hon’ble Sh.Kaul Singh Thakur. A man of few words addressed the audience his own people (Himachalis of Delhi) with all emotions, responded all the demands and appreciated keen interest the Mandi Jankalyan Sabha, has been taking for the welfare of poor, orphans and downtrodden back home. His good self announced a sum of Rs.11, 000.00 (Rupees Eleven thousand only) as a financial help and assured all possible helps in future in order to continue those humanitarian missions Mandi Sabha engaged in. Like yesteryears Mandi Sabha released the Souvenir so as to understand Mandi Sabha and its very purpose more precisely.
The program concluded with the vote of thanks to all the guests and folks. At last the chief Guest and dignitaries with entire audience guest requested to have and enjoy the flavor of Dham (Mandyali flavoured Bhoj), sponsored by Sh. Manohar Thakur and Sh D.S Saklani and prepared by Sh. Dhananjay Sharma from Chel Chowk, Mandi. Kids those who are born and brought up in Delhi or outside Himachal enjoyed the program and Dham. now Mandi Sabha felt blessed with a wide smile on their cute faces.
